Find the slope from a graph
Question
Answer:
1st- You find the Y-intercept (the point where the line crosses the y axis( the y axis is the standing up one. so like it could cross at 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 0 or -1 -2 -3 -4 -5 .2nd- you find a pair of points (ex- (2,3 4,5) that the line crosses straight through not at a half point or what ever3rd- now you count how many blocks up to the point so let us say you your intercept is 3 and your pair of points is 2,8 so you count how many blocks to how high the point is so it would be if the graph is counting by 1's and the y coordinate is 2 it would be 5 your rise in rise over run4th- you find out from your point of how high it is (the rise) how many blocks or points there are to the x coordinate so in 2,8 and the rise is 5 the run would be 2 so your slope is rise over run = 5/2= 2 1/2= 2.5 do you get it now?
