Is y = 4/x + 3 a linear equation?is y = -2x - 4 a linear equation?

First, we need to know when do we have a linear equation.

"A linear equation is an equation between two variables that gives a straight line when plotted on a graph."

I am honestly not good with graphing these kind of equation, so I usually used an online graphing to help me.

Remember we have a linear equation when we have straight line.

Graph the first equation(see picture 1) Y = 4/x + 3
Answer: No, it is not a linear equation. As you can see the lines are not straight. Got it? I hope so :)

Now let's work with the second equation y = -2x - 4
