Another Geometry B problem!!

Question
Answer:
Base
The size of the base goes from -4 to 2. The length of the base is |-4| + 2 = 6

Height
Height goes from 1 to 5. You can "measure" this on the y axis. (5 - 1) = 4

Comment
Rule: When the endpoints of a line segment are on opposite sides of the x or the y axis add their absolute values to get their lengths.

Rule: when the endpoints of a line segment are on the same side of the x or y axis subtract the smaller from the larger.

This needs a little bit of clarification. Suppose the end points of the height were moved down to -3 and - 10
-3 is larger than - 10
Length would be -3 - (-10) = -3 + 10 = 7.

Area
Area = Base * Height
Area = 6 * 4 = 24
